MarkzTools 7 is an XTension that can be used to prevent corrupted QuarkXPress documents, overcoming the dreaded bad file format. You can verify your saved Quark documents, so you will immediately know when the integrity of your file is suspect.

Furthermore, using a special temp file, MarkzTools 7 can try to help you recover documents that have become corrupted during a save operation while using Quark. (*Note, this special temp file is only available to MarkzTools 7  behind the scenes and is not selectable by the user.)In the case of a badly corrupted file in which the page layout data cannot be salvaged, the (scavenge text) feature may extract text stories from a document file.

MarkzTools 7 alerts you whenever you are about to save a lower version document to a higher version.

It also makes QuarkXPress backwards compatible, allowing you to open higher version Quark documents.

The (gray previews) features allows you to convert your full color picture previews into gray pictures, greatly reducing the file size on your hard drive.

It is important to note that even though PUB2ID provides many benefits, conversion is not perfect. This is because manufacturers of Desktop Publishing applications have their own, unique methods of text rendering and graphical representation.Therefore, text flow and certain graphical elements will not be 100%. Depending on the use of custom kerning, tracking, leading, graphic formatting and effects, etc., more or less rework may be required, but some rework will always be required. FlightCheck Studio v1.4 is capable of detecting virtually all problems commonly encountered in the print, and publishing industry.

By simply clicking on a reported error, FlightCheck Studio takes the operator directly to the page and place in the document where the suspect element is located to facilitate repair or replacement.

Document design specifications are based on rules known as (Design Policies).
